Our Daily Schedule and how the setting runs

Morning Session

8.30am Pre- school opens

Children may arrive from this time and are signed in by parent/guardian, an additional charge of £1.05p per 15 minutes applies to early starts unless covered by HCC funding.

9.15am Regular Session starts

9:25am-9:35am Chat on a Mat or Wake and Shake

The children are given a choice whether they would like to join in with our morning exercise routine, Wake and Shake or join in with Chat on a Mat, where they will be encouraged to share with the group what they have been doing, and any news that they may have. The children are welcome to bring in items for topics or items that are of interest to them, we ask that this is named so it can be safely returned to your child at the end of the session.

9:35am-11:00 Free Play

A variety of child and adult led activities and resources are available for their exploration and enjoyment. The children have free flow access to the garden area during this time. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

9.45am Snack Bar opens

Children choose when they would like their snack and sit down in the snack area to eat. A staff member is always present and encourages the children to try a new or different food at snack time. Milk and water are also available.

11:00am Tidy up time

The children are encouraged to take some responsibility for tidying up, but we attempt to keep this time as short as possible.

11:15am Circle time

The children are split into smaller groups and are encouraged to join in circle time, the theme varies from day to day and involves a variety of activities, for example; dance, familiar rhymes using finger puppets, masks etc., musical instruments and ring games to mention but a few. Small groups of children work with a member of staff on a focus area of interest & development.

11:30am Outside play

All children are encouraged to play outside, whatever the weather.

12:00 noon Story time

All children are invited to listen and participate in storytelling. Often stories are enhanced by the use of visual aids or sometimes acted out by the children using puppets/masks etc.

12:15pm Home time

Lunch club 12.15 – 1:00 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Children sit together and eat their own packed lunch. The session finishes at 1pm. Additional charge £3.15 per lunch club.

Afternoon Session Tuesdays & Wednesdays only

12.15 Afternoon session begins

Children sit down to eat their packed lunch together.

1.00pm Circle Time

The children are encouraged to share with the group what they have been doing, and any news that they may have.

1.30pm Free Play

A variety of activities and resources are available for their exploration and enjoyment. The children have free flow access to the garden area

2.30pm Tidy up time
